Although, a very well – known, somewhat famous, American public leaders, often, proclaims, no one else, can negotiate, like he does, and wrote a book, The Art of The Deal, the reality of negotiating is, great negotiators never considered this process, as a sort of game, or competition, to win! Rather, they train thoroughly, learn effectively, look and concentrate on the bigger – picture, and seek a win – win, solution, using their expertise and knowledge, to move forward, and SEAL the deal! This requires a special sort of person, who puts, doing the right thing, ahead of his ego, etc! With that in mind, this article will attempt to, briefly, consider, examine, review, and discuss, using the mnemonic approach, what this means and represents, and why it’s an essential skill – set, needed to be, a truly meaningful leader!

1. Selling/ sales; strengths/ stronger; sincerity; solve/ solutions; system: We all sell something, either a product, service, and/ or, ourselves! Therefore, doesn’t it make sell, to learn all the best techniques, of selling, so you can transform, a concept, to some sort of sale? Identify, both, your and the group’s strengths, and what you have to often, and clearly articulate that, to the other party! Proceed with the utmost degree of sincerity, and focus on solving, what needs to be resolved, and seek viable solutions, and develop the finest system, to effectively negotiating, what’s needed, and necessary!

2. Empathy; emphasis; energy/ energize; endurance; excellence: Do your homework, in advance, in order to have, a better idea of what, the other side, needs, and requires! Listen effectively, consistently learn from every conversation and experience, and proceed with genuine empathy. Maintain the highest degree of personal energy, and it will energize others, and help, to create, a meeting – of – the – minds, for the common good! Recognize, there will often, be challenges and obstacles, during this process, and maintain your endurance, while demanding your utmost degree of genuine, personal excellence!

Proceed, in a proactive way, and take the actions, which demonstrate, you can walk, the walk!

4. Listen; learn: In order to achieve a meaningful agreement, you must be ready, willing and able, to effectively listen, and learn, from every conversation and experience, in order to hone your technique, and become more effective!
