It is a formal meeting in which both the interviewer and the candidate talk with each other to discuss relevant information. The human resource person, or the head of any organization interact with the candidate to judge the applicant about his or her ability, skills and desires.

It is the prime responsibility of the interviewer to recruit a suitable candidate. The applicant should try to impress the interviewer by his or her qualities. Given below are some guidelines to follow at the time of interview.

  1. You must prepare well on different questions that may be relevant to your job or subject of study.
  2. Prepare answers on questions related to your work experience.
  3. Wear a formal dress.
  4. Get acquainted with the job location. Search or survey the exact location on the net.
  5. Reach at least 10 minutes before the time of interview. You can call the organization and ask for directions.
  6. If you have to fill up any application form, you must fill it accurately in neat handwriting.
  7. You should carry an extra copy of resume and a recent passport size photograph.
  8. You must wait until you are offered a chair to sit.
  9. Sit straight and do not lean.
  10. Remain alert all the way through the interview.
  11. Maintain an eye contact with the interviewer.
  12. Your body language should be impressive.
  13. You should ask intelligent questions (about the job or the company).
  14. Give prompt and to the point answers.
  15. Show that you are confident and enthusiastic. Your energy level should be high.
  16. Sell your skills by talking about your achievements.
  17. Talk with confidence in fluent English.

Never Do

1. Never wear casual dress in an interview.

2. Do not reach late. In case, you are not able to reach on time you must call the organization to inform the interviewer about it.

3. Never express lack of interest during the time of interview.

4. Never hesitate to answer. Any kind of nervousness will create a negative impression about you.

5. Do not discuss about your weaknesses.

6. Do not sit dumb at the time of interview. Be inquisitive and show your curiosity. Ask worthy questions connected to the job, or the company.

7. One should not hurry to enquire about salary, leave policy and other policies until the interviewer discuss these issues.

8. If you are looking for a change of job never speak negative or give incorrect information about your coworkers, superiors, or bosses.

9. Do not chew gum or smoke cigarette in the interview campus.

10. Never lie but remain firm.

11. Be confident and face the interview smartly.
